Transitional Kitchen in Harleysville

A Bold, Bright, and Timeless Kitchen Remodel Designed for Everyday Living

Project Overview

Project Location : Harleysville, PA

Project Type : Kitchen and Living Space Remodel

Timeline : 3 Months

Budget : $190,000

This kitchen and living space were completely transformed from dated and closed-off to bright, bold, and beautifully designed. By opening up the layout into the sunroom, introducing statement finishes, and layering in unique, custom details, we created a transitional design that feels both modern and timeless, perfectly tailored to the homeowners’ lifestyle.

The Challenge

Before the remodel, this kitchen struggled with flow, style, and functionality:

Outdated oak cabinetry made the entire space feel dark

A two-tier island created cluttered prep zones and reduced usable counter space

A large structural post obstructed the view into the sunroom

A pantry layout that reduced cabinet capacity

No exterior ventilation for the cooktop, causing airflow issues

The homeowners wanted a kitchen that felt open, sophisticated, and personal, a space where bold design and functionality could finally work together.

Our Solution

We reimagined this kitchen and living area with a focus on openness, premium finishes, and custom craftsmanship. Every element was chosen to balance character and function while creating a one of a kind design.

Key Improvements

Installed a massive LVL beam to open the doorway into the sunroom, removing visual barriers and letting in more natural light

Designed a statement quartzite island with bold veining and a unique paint color, becoming the centerpiece of the kitchen

Added Currey & Company Pierrepont small blue pendant lights to create a striking, modern focal point above the island

Installed custom glass mullion cabinet doors flanking the range for elegance, depth, and display

Replaced outdated oak cabinets with Jim Bishop custom off-white cabinetry featuring Juno doors for a clean, timeless aesthetic

Added Qualis Ceramica Surfside White subway tile backsplash for texture and brightness

Upgraded to Masland Trucore Prime LVP flooring for durability and seamless flow
