Bucks County Farmhouse Kitchen

Project Overview

Project Location : Haycock Township, PA

Project Type : Historic Farmhouse Kitchen Renovation

Budget : $200,000

This project involved transforming a dated kitchen in a former log cabin into a warm, inviting, and fully functional space that celebrates its farmhouse heritage. The homeowners, both passionate cooks and frequent entertainers, wanted a kitchen that could support a professional-style range while preserving the rustic character that defined their home.

The Challenge

The old stone farmhouse presented several challenges:

Outdated interior and exterior that no longer matched the homeowners’ lifestyle

A kitchen that lacked modern functionality and efficient layout.

Limited island seating and workspace.

Old finishes that didn’t reflect the timeless beauty of the home’s architecture.

The homeowners envisioned a design that honored the farmhouse’s heritage while delivering the comfort, functionality, and beauty of a modern remodel.

Our Solution

We reimagined the kitchen layout to create a seamless flow between cooking, prep, and gathering areas. The new design centered on a large Bluestar range, surrounded by a mix of repurposed and custom-built cabinetry. Reclaimed barnwood beams were installed across the ceiling to restore the rustic authenticity of the space while unifying the old and new sections of the home.

The adjacent living area received thoughtful updates as well — a new TV above the fireplace, custom built-ins for storage, and design details that felt original to the home’s history. These subtle touches elevated both functionality and comfort for the homeowners’ daily routines.

The Transformation

The result is a space that perfectly balances preservation and progress — a kitchen that honors the character of the original log cabin while offering the luxury and practicality of a modern chef’s workspace.
